The High and Lows of Trial and Error

I'm in a funk.

Between being bombarded by information and knowledge I have to change something up in my workout...I'm bummed.

A couple of weeks ago I decided I wanted to increase the amount of work I do on my arms to see results. So now I'm trying to do arms every other day. I'm stuck doing upper and lower body workouts interchangeably on top of daily cardio. I wake up 5:40 am and feel like I instantly don't have enough time to get everything in. On top of that, I'm just drained.

So something has to change and this is where the mental challenge comes in. When it comes to fitness, you need to malleable and it's hard to want to change things up when you have the discipline part down, but if I don't make changes I won't see results. Results aside, I'm going to be miserable because whatever is happening right now isn't working.

I think I'm going to decrease my cardio and increase my strength resistance. Rather than doing cardio 6 days a week, I'll limit it to 4 times a week to start. For the weight resistance, I want to try doing different moves to switch it up and focus on heavier weights.

The key here is to try different things to keep me interested. Rather than doing ab workouts, I'm also going to be focusing on core work.

I will also need some new music to make the whole process easier, but this is where I want to start.

There are a few other things I want to do to change things up, but maybe trying to bite more than I could chew is going to set me up to being overwhelmed.

I'm going to try all of this outgoing forward to change things up and will keep you posted on what I decide to. I'm not accepting defeat. I'm only accepting the challenge to try something new to make me happier and healthier going forward.

There are some basic rules that do make fitness universal, but a lot of it is trial and error. The same routine won't work for everyone so I'm trying to ride the wave of figuring out what works best for me. It's not always easy, but I know I need to try new things out in order to reach my goals.
